Approach

Treatment of mental health illness has historically been taken in the context of the “medical model” with treatments focused on the physical symptoms and little or no emphasis placed on social issues; even though they are an integral part of mental health problems.

Identifying this major gap, CN aims to initiate services by addressing both medical as well as social aspects by incorporating the “Mental Health and Development Model” in its approach; with special focus on the needs of homeless mentally ill people.
